Cheshire Farm Award Success

We had a successful time at the Cheshire Farm Awards again this year. At the Awards Dinner held at Nantwich Civic Hall, we scooped the Wright Marshall Trophy for Diversification, showing enterprise alongside traditional farming methods, for a 2nd year running and came 3rd for Grassland - New Ley as well.

Our very own Open Farm Manager and Learning Officer Sophie collected the Oxford Conference Farming Award which will see her attending the conference in the New Year!

And Reg Walton collected the Ambassador Award for his founding of Stockley Farm as a visitor attraction and educational facility 29 years ago...very apt as we head ointo our 30th birthday year!

Marketing Cheshire Awards 2016

We have been shortlisted for the Marketing Cheshire Awards again this year but this time in the Access to All category! Last year our lovely Lesley won the award for Outstanding Customer Service...fingers crossed for 2016! Go Team Stockley!

Another Award Nomination!

We have been nominated for the Large Diversification Innovator of the Year in this year's Farmer's Guardian Awards!

The national award recognises business enterprise alongside traditional farming methods, something we pride ourselves on as a working farm, an educational facility and a visitor attraction!

The results are announced on the 20th October so wish us luck!!

Triodos Bank Head Heart Day

Customers of Triodos Bank were invited to join us for a very special visit on Tuesday 20 September.

Unlike most banks, Triodos thinks it’s only fair that their customers know where their money goes; Head Heart Days are a chance for customers to hear first-hand from many of the inspiring organisations they finance.

During their visit customers had the opportunity to find out more about Stockley Farm Park’s valuable work, hear about the relationship with Triodos Bank and have a tour of the farm and of course sample the delicious homebaked cakes in the Willow Barn tearoom!

We've Done the Double!!

We have been awarded the Wright Marshall Trophy for Diversification in the Cheshire County Farms Competition for the 2nd year running! The trophy is awarded for showing enterprise alongside traditional farming methods and we are very proud to have been recognised again in this category. It shows the amount of hard work done by all the team here at Stockley and also the support we get from all our visitors - public and schools alike!

Arley Garden Festival School Competition Winners 2016!

Congratulations to St Matthew's C of E Primary School from Stretton, Warrington, whose winning design captured the judge's eye at Arley Hall & Gardens' annual Garden Festival over the weekend!

They have won an educational visit to us at Stockley Farm Park for their school and we can't wait to welcome them! We clearly have some talented young gardeners in Cheshire!

New piglets! 06/04/2016

Congratulations to Gladys, our ever popular sow, who gave birth to her piglets last night (6th April). Both mum and babies are doing well...they are a mixture of Gloucester Old Spot and Mangalitza so maybe we will have 'Glitzy' piglets!

NFAN Visit 02/02/2016

We are extremely proud to have welcomed visitors from the National Farm Attractions Network (NFAN) to the farm this week ahead of the annual conference. It was great to meet and learn from so many different people within the same industry...and to show off our lovely farm too!

The keynote speaker for the education at the conference in Liverpool was also none other than our very own Sophie!

Arley Hall and Gardens Christmas Tree Competition!

Congratulations to The Russett School and Cheshire M.S.I. Unit from Weaverham who won our judge Lesley's vote at the Arley Hall and Gardens' Christmas Tree competition last weekend!

Their beautiful entry won the school an educational visit to us this year and we are looking forward to welcoming them here!

Thank you Arley Hall for inviting us to judge again and we can't wait for next year's competition!

And Another One!!

We are very proud to say that not only were we shortlisted for Large Visitor Attraction at the Marketing Cheshire Awards but that our very own Lesley, who most of you will recognise from days out on the farm or her fantastic work with our outside events, scooped the award for Outstanding Customer Service!! Much deserved we think you will all agree!

And in true Lesley style, she hasn't stopped to waste time basking in her glory, she was at the Christmas Markets in Knutsford over the weekend and is off to judge the Arley Hall & Gardens School Christmas Tree Competition on Saturday 5th December! It's all go!!

Cheshire Farms Competition Awards!

What a night we all had on Friday at the Cheshire Farm Awards Dinner...we picked up our awards for Diversification and Best Farm over 500 Acres and the Reaseheath Award for Competent Young Person in Agriculture was won by our very own Laura Cureton!!

Many of you will recognise her from days out at the farm and she is favourite with the school children too; something the judges were keen to point out with their glowing comments!

Well done Laura and well done Team Stockley!!

Horse of the Year Show success!

We are all very proud of the East Cheshire Mounted Games Team, who include all 3 of Farmer John's children, as they competed excellently in this year's Horse of the Year Show at the NEC in Birmingham.

They came joint 2nd in the Virbac 3D Worming Cup and then came 3rd overall in the Prince Philip Cup too!

Well done Team!!

Awards, Awards, Awards!!

Wow, it's been rather busy lately with schools all week and plenty of events to attend at the weekends, but it's all paid off as in the last month we have been reaping in the awards!!

In the Cheshire Farm Competition we have won the Duke of Westminster Cup for Best Farm Over 500 Acres and the Wright Marshall Trophy for Diversification: showing enterprise alongside traditional farming.

We have also been named the 2015 winners of the Best Family Day Out by Raring 2 Go! Magazine, voted for by the public...and that says it all!

Trip Advisor Award!

We've gone and got ourselves a Trip Advisor Award for Excellence! Well done Team Stockley, 2015 is proving to be a great year and there's still 6 months of it left!

We are really proud of all our friendly and helpful staff here on the farm...we've always known how good they are at looking after the visitors and this year at the NFAN (National Farm Attractions Network) conference we won an award for Customer Service Excellence! Well done Team Stockley!

Staff training day at Arley Hall and Gardens

Our staff training today took place at Arley Hall and Gardens.  The Stockley Team had a fantastic tour of the house and gardens and even enjoyed lunch in the Tudor Barn!  It was a very informative and enjoyable day, learning all about the history of the Arley Estate (of which our farm is part of) and the families who lived there and shaped its development.  We are looking forward to welcoming the Arley Team over to the farm in the coming months to show them how the farm has developed over the years.

Look out for future collaborations between us and Arley Team - There are lots of exciting plans in the pipeline!

We are on the tele!

The new BBC 1 drama 'Our Zoo' was filmed right here on the Arley Estate and some of our cows had starring roles too! The series is a dramatisation of the events that led the Mottishead family to create Chester Zoo and will be aired at 9pm on Wednesday 3rd September... We can't wait to watch it!
